Prefectural Summit-Concerned Event Accurate

On December 28th, the Okinawa Prefecture People's Summit Promotion Council announced its schedule of events related to the G8 Summit that will be held in Nago City, Okinawa, in July of this year.

As far as pre-summit events are concerned, a “Kids’ Festival” will be conducted on 4th and 5th of May, a “G8 High School Student Summit” will be held June 20th to 26th and the “Summit Music Festival” will be held, with famous Okinawan artists such as Namie Amuro, MAX, and other musicians, on June 4th. An “Elementary and Junior High Schools Summit” is to be on May 14th to 16th and a “Summit Children’s Composition and Art Crafts Commemoral Exhibition" will be held on July 8th. As for post-summit events, “Summit Cultural Art Commemoral Performance” will be set on the dates of August 12th and 13th. ” Moreover, the Prefecture is planning to send an Okinawan Traditional Art Performance Group to some foreign countries so that they can introduce Okinawa and its culture to the outer world; Art Performance Groups will visit the US and Canada in March, Great Britain and Germany in June.
