JHS teens steal safe and money box from Tomigusuku restaurant

Date Posted: 2011-12-23

Three 15-year-old junior high school students are under arrest for breaking into a building and stealing a portable safe and collection box from a Tomigusuku restaurant.

The brazen theft by the three third graders took place between 1 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. when the restaurant was closed. Police investigators say the three broke into the restaurant through an exhaust port; one boy wiggled through and then opened the door to admit the others.

One of the three has been charged with breaking into the restaurant and stealing the portable safe and the money box, while the others were charged with breaking and entering, and theft. Police say the trio had plotted the theft together.
