Traditional ceramics makers to show wares in Yomitan

Date Posted: 2011-12-16

It’s called the Yomitan Yachimun no Sato, but in more simple terms it’s a Yuntan-za burned ceramic wares market.

The traditional ceramic ware market is holding a three day festival starting tomorrow, with eight ateliers from Yuntanza kiln and Yuntanza north kiln selling their ceramic wares for 20% ~ 30% off the normal prices. The 31st annual Yuntan-za burned ceramic ware market takes place at Yomitan Yachimun no Sato in the Zakimi district of Yomitan Village.

The festival is open 9 a.m. ~ 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Zakimi district in Yomitan Village. Organizers say their products are the most beautiful in Okinawa.
