Fend off the Cold with Ichibantei Ramen

Ichibantei is a nationwide ramen chain with over 50 branches in Japan. Including several in Okinawa. The most popular dish at Ichibantei is a spicy ramen called Tantan-men (エ680). Tantan-men is believed to have originated long ago in Chinaユs Sichuan province, where people basted noodles with a spicy soup. Ichibanteiユs Tantan-men soup has a perfect balance of sesame and miso flavors, hot pepper and minced pork, resulting in a delicious marriage of soup and noodles that melts in your mouth.

Even the faint of heart who shy away from spicy foods are able to enjoy the mild spiciness of Ichibanteiユs Tantan-men. For spicy-food lovers, Ichibantei offers ramen in a red soup called Super Tantan-men (エ780). And for the truly adventurous, the heat can be turned up by choosing a spiciness level from 1 to 3 (エ30 for each additional level). Ichibantei also serves a pork soup-based ramen called Paitanshan-men with a soft-boiled egg, slices of roast pork and black oil (エ650). At Ichibantei you can enjoy crunchy pot-stickers, a perfect accompaniment for beer, as well as the usual fried rice and desert.

Ichibantei has four restaurants in Okinawa: the Mihama branch in Chatan Town, the Misato branch in Okinawa City, the Shintoshin branch in Naha City and the Nago branch in Nago City. The Mihama branch is open daily from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 a.m.; an English menu is available. For more information, contact Ichibantei Mihama branch at 098-983-7655.
