OAC Fashion Building mecca for designer goods, great foodDate Posted: 2011-12-02 ![]() The OAC Fashion Building is situated in the Depot Island shopping complex in Chatan Town’s Mihama district, with one of its three floors featuring boutique shops while the second and third floors are home to restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. Open since September, next to a hotel now under construction in the complex, the OAC Fashion Building is home to an accessory shop, Kids’ wear shop, a ladies’ bag shop, original beach sandals and a specialty ladies store. Original beach sandals, Island Box: The Beach House, has a dozens of types and styles of beach foot wear. The store has operations withint he Camp Foster PX and Kadena AB BX. A hop and a skip away there’s Kid’s Casual Quag, with products catering to families, and with an emphasis on making things easier for pregnant women. Whether it’s coordinating a handmade baby carrier, or products to add comfort to a woman in pregnancy, there are products for every taste. Garage House offers girls’ favorite items, including pierced earrings, straps, rings and necklaces. And at Hale Ange, cute products and good prices are the order of the day. ‘Hale’ means house in the Hawaiian language, and ‘Ange’ means angel in French. The shop specializes in carries the latest fashion trends, including bags for every occasion. The nearby Beach Boutique offers those latest designs fresh from Los Angeles. And then there’s the Boo Noo Noo Noo Noos, an accessory shop with a long name that matches the varieties of silver and natural stones including rubies, lapis lazuli, turquoise and sapphires. Original accessories include bracelets, straps, pierced earrings, necklaces and silver accessories. Whew! All that shopping’s enough to make a person hungry, and that’s easily solved, too. On the second floor are two restaurants, while the third floor has yet another. The casual Café & Pizza Bar Oh! Yeah! Provides opportunities for eating pizza and drinking beer on the open terrace. A friendly staff, ambience and an impressive array of available liquors make it the perfect stop-off point. For something more substantive, there’s Gabriel Steak, a steakhouse that’s been around for 34 years and knows how to cook and serve good tasting meats on its terrace. One floor up is the Loco Paradice 77, offering lunch and dinner service with generous servings of Churrasco, along with a fresh, healthy salad bar. Loco Paradice 77 has more than food’ it features events every week, including entertainment and music by deejays. And oh yes, there’s samba dance that kicks off after 10 p.m. |
