Marines busted in separate breaking and entering cases

Date Posted: 2011-11-18

It wasn’t a good day when young Marines found themselves afoul of the law for breaking and entering buildings in Ginowan and Urasoe Cities.

Private First Class Ican Davis, 25, and 20-year-old Private Jonathan Genneflix were arrested on charges of breaking into the Okinawa Power Company head office at Makiminato, Urasoe City. Police say the two men had entered the building about 7:30 p.m. without justifiable reason.

About one-half hour earlier, two foreigners fled the scene after failing to pay a taxi fare after having the taxi stop near the Makiminato intersection. Police say they’re investigating to see if there’s a connection between the taxi incident and the Okinawa Power Company break in a short time later.

Within hours, in a separate incident, 26-year-old Marine Private Troy Minchu was arrested for breaking into a restaurant building in Ginowan City. Minchu is charged with breaking into the second floor landing of the outside stairs of a restaurant in the Futenma district. Minchu has refused to talk with police.
