China Airlines join Sky Team Alliance

Travelers who enjoy flying on airlines affiliated with Sky Team Alliance now have a 15th option.

China Airlines is now a full member of the Sky Team Alliance, finalizing entry to the worldwide airline conglomeration headed by America’s Delta Airlines. China Airlines is the first Taiwanese airline to join the international organization, a relationship that will enable CAL to offer more benefits to clients, including access to 490 airport lounges, one-time check-in procedure, generous mileage program and diverse value-added services such as Travel Passes, Global contracts and Global Meetings.

The Sky Team Alliance now has 15 members: Delta, China Airlines, Aeroflot, AeroMexico, AirEuropa, Air France, Alitalia, China Eastern, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Kenya Airways, Kenya, Korean Air, Tarom and Vietnam Airlines Sky Team shares many services, including lounges, guaranteed reservations, more flights with the industry’s best fares, easy connections and a simplified system for check-in at airports around the world.

China Airlines’ entry to the organization links the Asian carrier with 14,000 daily flights to 926 destination airports in 173 countries. China Airlines, with its hub in nearby Taipei, offers twice daily flights to and from Okinawa, easily connecting to worldwide flights from Taipei on its own planes and those of fellow Sky Team Alliance carriers.
