Pit bull owner arrested for allowing pet escape

Date Posted: 2011-11-04

A 41-year-old dog breeder is facing charges after one of his dogs escaped from a kennel and attacked a woman who was working in a farm field.

Tomigusuku Police have arrested the man, who they say breeds dogs for fighting, after his pit bull dog attacked a woman and bit her while she was working in a field near the kennel. Police say the woman’s injuries were serious and included a broken arm that will take three months to heal.

The man has admitted to the gross negligence charges. Police say the pit bull escaped because the kennel owner failed to lock a kennel gate at his store in Tomigusuku City.
