Underworld crime boss denies role in assault

Date Posted: 2011-10-21

The leader of a gangster organization, Tomiwaka-gumi of the third Tominaga Ikka of Okinawa Gokuryu-kai, is under arrest on charges of inflicting an injury, but is denying the charges.

Kazuhiko Arakaki, 36, was charged with the crime, along with 38-year-old Hiroyuki Oku of the Tsuji district of Naha. Oku has confessed to beating and kicking three men, inflicting injuries, but Arakaki insists he had no part in the assault. The three victims, all in their forties and self-employed men living in Naha, suffered facial and cervical spine injuries that police say will take up to two weeks to heal.

Naha City Police are investigating the event that took place last weekend in Naha City.
