Pendants, coins attract attention at Brown AngelDate Posted: 2011-10-14    Brown Angel is a silver artwork jewelry business specializing in nostalgic coins, unique coins, and coin pendants custom designed using the coins from Spain, Thailand and Hong Kong. It’s more than just a jewelry shop though, as the owner encourages people to “bring your own design that you’d like to have, sketched on paper, and Brown Angel can create your personal accessory on the basis of that design.” Better yet, if the urge strikes, give a shot at designing your own jewelry by participating in an accessory-making class held weekdays at Brown Angel, situated in Chatan Town in the Hamby Night Market Office at the rear of the complex. The gal who owns Brown Angel says “you can try to make accessories of your own design, kneading it first in silver clay.” She says it’s fun, but adds “in the accessory-making class you can make a ring, for example, but that is difficult. I recommend making a pendant.” The owner’s career launched her in the direction of New Mexico for studies in not only in designing and creating jewelry accessories, but also in studies of culture and stone cutting. Some items on display for sale are made by an American designer. “Brown Angel is an interesting shop,” she says, “because here we have a lot of rare coins, including the old five cents coin called the ‘Buffalo coin’. Guests are welcome at Brown Angel, which is open weekdays from 7:30 p.m. ~ 11 p.m., and from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The shop’s closed temporarily, though, when the owner’s setting up an event, such as one with silver accessories to be held in Tokyo the end of October.
