Kimono sale specials start today at KadenaDate Posted: 2011-09-23 ![]() Takikawa Kimono Recycling Shop will be offering the second-hand kimonos at the Kadena Officers Club today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sale is now in its tenth year in Okinawa, and the third at Kadena. A company spokesman assures the second-hand kimonos look brand new, adding they’re available both in a vintage or oriental style. The sale continues over the weekend at the Okinawa Convention Center Meeting Room A-2. Specials will be offered 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, and 10 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. Sunday. Wedding Kimonos in Uchikake style start at ¥5,000, while silk kimonos are priced as low as ¥8,000. Washable kimonos will be available starting at ¥3,000. Children’s kimonos are available starting at ¥4,000 and Obi are being sold at ¥2,000. Visa and MasterCard will be accepted for kimono sales, along with Japanese yen. Organizers from Takikawa Kimono Recycling Shop explain used kimonos are all veterans of service in wedding halls and rental shops, with sales prices a fraction of the cost of a new kimono. All kimonos are clean and in excellent condition. Silk kimonos in styles both for married and single women, obi belts for formal dress and town wear, and washable kimonos and accessories are all to be on sale. |
