Cops arrest Ginowan man for unlawfully restraining a teenDate Posted: 2011-09-23 Yonabaru Police have arrested Shingo Taira of Ginowan City’s Arashiro district on charges of unfair arrest of a person after he was accused of restraining a 17-year-old Naha City boy in a field in Tomigusuku. Taira is denying the charge, admitting “I handcuffed the boy, but took off the cuffs once and then the boy’s friend handcuffed him. I don’t remember.” Police investigators say Taira handcuffed the boy’s right arm to a steel pipe for more than a half day last weekend, telling him to “stay here.” Taira then left the scene. The boy finally managed to get the handcuff away from the steel pipe and escaped. He was not injured. |
