USMC seeks Japanese university students to learn about CorpsDate Posted: 2011-09-02 A one-day seminar is planned for September 23rd to orient Japanese students about the role and mission of the United States Marine Corps in Japan and the Asia-Pacific Region, and to explain the history and organization of the Corps, and how it sets about making a Marine. Participants will receive informational briefings, meet Marines and staff assigned to Marine Corps Bases Japan, and tour USMC facilities in Okinawa. Students with Japanese nationity attending universities in Japan are eligible to apply. There’s no deadline for applications, but the Marines are encouraging registration as soon as possible. Presentations will be in English, with translations provided. Discussions will be held in both English and Japanese. Applicants need to submit their names, addresses, university names and year, and copies of their student ID to the Community Police, Planning and Liaison Office (G-5), at mcbcommunitypolicy@usmc.mil.
