Taxi driver strikes elderly pedestrian

A taxi driven by a 61-year-old driver bumped into a 79-year-old on the early morning of July 30th, while the man was crossing the street in Urasoe City’s Iso district.

The older man had been crossing the road while the taxi was making a right turn. Urasoe City Police say the pedestrian was hospitalized after suffered serious injuries, including a broken pelvis. Doctors say the man’s condition is not life threatening.

The driver of the taxi was not injured.
