Japanese classes being offered absolutely free

Foreigners living in Okinawa are being offered a chance to learn Japanese during flexible classes that feature Okinawan foods and annual events.

The free Japanese classes are being offered by The Culture Bureau of the Government of Japan and Sci-Tec College. The school is offering two sessions that will be conducted mainly in Japanese, but partially in English. Participants are encouraged to be able to read and write hiragana when enrolling.

The August 1st ~ 29th course runs Mondays through Fridays 9 a.m. ~ noon, while the September 1st ~ December 17th classes are Saturdays 9 a.m. ~ noon. School officials will conduct the classes at Sci.Tec. College Naha in Ameku Shintoshin, Naha, and Sci.Tec. College in Mihama, Chatan.
