U.S., local artists team for acoustic performance Sunday at Cotonoha

Date Posted: 2011-07-14

A pair of singer-songwriters are putting their collective heads and instruments together Sunday evening for a performance that promises a bit of everything from indie, Americana, folk, pop and alternative country music.

Adam Sullivan, a New York City-based singer-songwriter, is wrapping up his three live shows on Okinawa with the 8 p.m. performance Sunday at Cotonoha Artspace and Café, where he’ll be joined by local artist-songwriter Kluso. Sullivan, a classically trained concert pianist who’s since discovered his real passion is for rock and roll music, has been traveling the world combining his experiences with inspiration for new music, an endeavor that’s brought his latest release, The Room is Spinning Faster. That song is available on iTunes.

Kluso has been calling Okinawa home, where he is honing songwriting skills as he continues to weave story-based tales of the struggles of everyday life. He’ll be debuting works from his new CD ‘Determination / Kluso Acoustic.

Both artists will be giving away free CD’s at the concert. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. at Cotonoha Art Space and Café. Advance tickets are ¥1,500 or ¥2,000 at the door. Food and beverages are not included in the entry price. Tickets are available at http://shop.cotonoha.com/?pid=32753407. Or at Cotonoha Art Space and Café. Note: the website is only in Japanese.
