Date Posted: 2011-07-07

The Miyazato name will be borne by two Okinawa ladies the last weekend as this month as the Women’s British Open kicks off at the world famous Carnoustie course in Scotland.

Ai Miyazato, now ranked ninth in the women’s world of golf after holding the number one position a few months ago, will be on the links July 28th ~ 31st, along with another Okinawan, Mika Miyazato. Mika Miyazato’s not related to Ai, but she’s still an up-and-comer on the Ladies Professional Golf Association circuit, currently ranked 24th.

Japanese golfer Momoko Ueda is also slated to play the Women’s British Open. She earned a berth via her ranking in the top 15 at last year’s event.
