USMC Commandant, Sergeant Major, visit Okinawa Marines

The Commandant and the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps have wrapped up a two-day visit to Okinawa for tours of bases and meetings with Marines and sailors assigned to III Marine Expeditionary Force.

General James F. Amos and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Michael P. Barrett visited Camps Schwab, Hansen and Kinser, taking in a Medical Simulation Center demonstration, and had lunch with Marines from the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy.

This week’s visit marked the first time the two Marine Corps leaders have visited III MEF since assuming the top leadership positions in the Marine Corps. Amos and Barrett are on a multi-day tour of Marine Corps installations in the Asia-Pacific region.
