Kadena mayor files complaint of Marine truck on school groundsDate Posted: 2011-05-03 Mayor Hiroshi Toyama says he takes a serious view of the situation, where the large Marine Corps vehicle was forced to make a U-turn at Kadena Town’s elementary school about 4 p.m., when children were present. No children were injured, and the truck continued its journey after making the turn. Toyama has taken his complaint to the Okinawa Defense Bureau and demanded they mandate relapse prevention by the U.S. military. Rou Manabe, the director of the Okinawa Defense Bureau, reportedly told Toyama “It is a regrettable matter.” Manabe has assured Kadena Town “we will ask the U.S. forces to take appropriate action. |
