A layup by Kibwe Trim with 5:22 left in the contest put Kyoto ahead 80-66, and there was little the Lakestars could do to rally. Shiga went only 4-for-22 on three-point shots, while Kyoto’s Abdul-Rauf, an ex-NBA guard, kept the pressure on as he wound up with 14 points while playing more than 234 minutes of the game.
