Purse snatches have cops on lookout

Purse snatches in downtown Naha City have police on the looking for a man wearing denim pants and a black jacket.

Over a 12-hour period, the purse snatcher struck two times against women. Naha Police believe the bag rip-offs were the work of a single man described as 170cm tall. He struck first about 1 a.m., then again about 4:51 a.m., stealing the purse from a 22-year-old college student on her way home in the Nagata district of Naha City. She lost some 20,000 in her handbag.

An afternoon purse snatching in Kume district of Naha by the thief riding a motorcycle took 14,000 from the 69-year-old victim. In both incidents, the purse snatcher approached the women from behind.
