ANA establishes budget airline for Asia travelers

All Nippon Airways is finalizing plans for a new budget airline to be based at Osaka's Kansai International Airport and serving Asian destinations.

The Japanese airline is teaming with a Hong Kong-based investment firm to launch the low-cost airline, which is expected to begin service with 3-4 international and 3-4 domestic destinations using a half-dozen aircraft. The First Eastern Investment Group and ANA are forming A&F Aviation Company with initial capitalization of エ30.05 bllion.

Flights are expected to begin around October. The current head of ANA's joint venture project team, Shinichi Inoue has been named chief executive officer for the company and its as-yet-unnamed airline.
