Police investigate grizzly body discovery in Kin forest

Date Posted: 2011-02-25

An Ishikawa resident venturing into a thickly wooded area in Kin Town to cut bushes got more than he bargained for, stumbling upon a dead body.

Ishikawa Police say the body of a male thought to be in his 50's ~ 70's was found, but that no identification was on the body. Authorities say the body had already turned into a skeleton, but that clothing with the body could aid in ultimate identification. Preliminary investigation is leading police to believe the death occurred sometime between 2003 and 2009. The body of a man 155-160cm tall was found in Kin Town's Yaka District. The body was clad in a red, white and green checkered color shirt, and dark blue work pants. He had 24cm shoes.

Police say the body bore marks of a broken bone in the left elbow, and says there were no belongings with the body. Police are asking for assistance from the general public identifying the body. Anyone with information on a missing person, or who has other data to contribute, should contact the Ishikawa Police Station, (098) 964-4110.
