Sunflowers shine now in central OkinawaDate Posted: 2011-02-18 The plantations at Adaniya and Ogidou, a total of about 10,000 square meters, popped into initial bloom more than a week ago, just in time for the メSunflowers in Kitanakagusukuモ festival sponsored by the Sunflowers in Kitanaka-gusuku Executive Committee last week. The cold weatherユs impeded the sunflowers growth, though, and the Kitanaka-gusuku organizers say theyユll still be welcoming visitors until February 20th. The weather was bright and sunny late last week, bringing hundreds of children who live in the area, as well as tourists, to visit and take pictures. Hisakatsu Oshiro, the sunflowers organization chairman, says メthe sunflowers are not in full bloom yet, but theyユre getting ready, so please come and see these perfect sunflowers". |
