Trial starts for two charged with raping young girlDate Posted: 2011-01-21 The incident occurred last July in southern Okinawa when the two allegedly provided alcohol to the young girl, then raped her. The following day the girl committed suicide. The younger defendant has pleaded not guilty to the charges, telling the court "I didn't rape her. She was not of sound mind, so I couldn't do it." The boy's legal counsel adds that "It is my understanding the girl agreed to have sex with him, and she didn't refuse having those relations." The prosecution says the two defendants conspired to get the girl drunk, and then while she had little control of her faculties, raped her. Prosecutors say both the 20-year-old and the teen took the girl into the public toilet, where they raped her. |
