Soldier busted for drunk driving after accident

A soldier assigned to the U.S. Army's 58th Signal Battalion is in serious trouble with Naha City authorities after he was involved in an accident and found to be drunk.

Naha City Police say Private First Class Victor Noms tested positive for alcohol at a level four times the legal limit. Noms admitted "I drank at a bar on Kokusai Street". Police say Noms was driving on Kokusai Street ‘s Matsuo district about 5 a.m. Sunday when his car was struck by another. The other vehicle involved was a daiko driver.

Police say the daiko driver wasn't injured. Noms faces drunk driving charges under the Japan Road Traffic Law.
