Zion Church moves to new Chatan siteDate Posted: 2011-01-14 Zion Christian Fellowship Church and Academy will celebrate a move to new facilities in Chatan Town during a Sunday open house. The church is an inter-denominational ministry reaching Okinawa's international and military communities through a series of activities that include Japanese and Tagalog bible studies, women's and teen ministries, a Kindergarten 4 through Grade 12 Christian Academy, and dynamic praise and worship services at Zion Christian Fellowship Church. The Open House takes place Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. "Something good is just about to happen in your life," says Bishop James Whitaker, who, along with wife Gloria, are founders and senior pastors of the church and Zion Christian Ministries. The couple has been serving as missionaries to Japan and the Republic of the Philippines for 33 years. Zion Christian Fellowship Church is now located across from the Chatan Nirai Center and Library at 586-10 Kuwae, Chatan-cho. From Kadena Gate 1, turn south onto Highway 58, then turn east on Route 23. Pass through two traffic signals, then turn left, where you'll see a service station and a fire station. The church is located one block past the stations on the right. |
