Kyan Kensetsu introduces financing for foreign customers; holds Open House for home buyers

Date Posted: 2011-01-07

Kyan Kensetsu Co. has been serving homebuilders in Okinawa for five decades, with unique ideas, concepts and flexibility to design and build quality homes.

From construction of 120 U.S. Army housing units in the Makiminato Heights area in the postwar years, to recent completion of a state-of-the-art condominium complex, Kyan Kensetsu has been in the business of satisfying home builders, both locals and foreigners.

This month - on Saturday and Sunday January 15th and 16th, and again Saturday and Sunday January 22nd and 23rd - Kyan Kensetsu has teamed with John and Maiko Lynch to showcase their work at an Open House in Yaka, Kin Town.

The Lynch residence is the latest to be built by Kyan Kensetsu, and represents a modern approach to affordable, quality housing for a foreign customer. The Lynchs had considered various companies to build their house since three years ago, but the biggest hurdle proved to be financing. They finally discovered Kyan Kensetsu that had worked out a system for providing new home financing for foreigners who can't be served by Okinawa banks. Their home is now a reality, and the location for the upcoming Open House.

Kyan Kensetsu's original financing system for foreigners removes the anxieties, worries and fears about building a home. The system works for foreigners who cannot borrow money from local banks, with the main requirement only that people wanting to build with Kyan must agree to live in Okinawa for at least ten years.

"Besides having a financing system in place, we also liked the flexibility Kyan Kensetsu offered. They were able to incorporate our ideas in the design so we got what re really had wanted," the Lynchs said.

Kyan worked with the couple on finding a site for the dream home, assisted with land purchase and financing, and then the smooth building process. John Lynch praises Kyan Kensetsu, because the company tries to accommodate every client desire.

They chose Yaka in Kin Town because it's close to the ocean, and near to the workplace. Then too, the Lynch family discovered a good balance between Japanese and Americans living in the neighborhood they selected. "With Kyan," says Lynch, "you can build almost whatever you like."

The Sky Coral Maeda condominium complex is Kyan's other highly regarded recent project. The Sky Coral Maeda is a maisonette type condominium built on strong ground that affords a broad view. The company's theme in developing Sky Coral Maeda is to imagine "the coral reef of the sea floating in the air". Each of the condo units is barrier-free, and the individual condos have varying room designs. All afford outstanding views that include the slopes, gardens and a scenic overlook.
Kyan Kensetsu welcomes inquiries, and appointments for the presentation of the Open House at (098) 876-3518. The company also has a website at http://www.kyan.co.jp.

To visit the open house, take the Okinawa Expressway north to Kin, Exit 8. Coming off the expressway, turn right and drive 3.5 kilometers. At the traffic light by the Golden Sun Beach Hotel, turn right, then at the third intersection, turn left. The Open House is in the brown house, the fourth building on the right.
