Girl, 15, nabbed for stealing car after collision with motorcycle

Naha Police nabbed a 15-year-old girl driving a stolen car after a hair-rising chase, Sunday. The police spotted the car that had been reported stolen from an Gushikawa City parking lot in Omoromachi near San-A Naha Main Place shopping center. The girl made a run and ended up driving on the opposing lane on Highway 330 towards Urasoe. When reaching Takushi area in Urasoe City she collided head on with a motorcycle but did not stop. The driver of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old woman, suffered severe head and other injuries. The girl driving the car did not stop in spite of the motorcycle getting stuck under the car but continued another 150 meters dragging the motorcycle with her. When the car finally stopped the police discovered that the driver was a 15-year-old girl. Her boyfriend, also 15, was sitting on the passenger seat. Both were arrested. According to the police, the girl said that they wanted to go on a drive and thatís why they stole the car. She also said that she was always the driver as her boyfriend did not know how to drive. The car had been reported stolen on Saturday.
