Murasaki Band vet to perform in CotonohaDate Posted: 2010-11-11  Miyanaga, who is best known for his rock music stint with the Japanese band Murasaki, entertains at Cotonoha Artspace & Café Saturday, starting at 8 pm. His drum solo show, Ryukyu Magic, ties together the early beginnings of Okinawan music with today’s modern progressive rock that mixes traditional rhythms with music and singing. Miyanaga describes the music as “creating an intense atmosphere that evokes the spirit of the Ryukyu Islands. Tickets are on sale for the Cotonoha Artspace & Café Show. Advance tickets are ¥2,500, but do not include food or drink. Tickets will be ¥3,000 at the door.
