Taco Rice Challenge set for Sunday in KinDate Posted: 2010-11-11 ![]() Sunday’s goal at Nature Mirai-kan is to cook up the world’s largest Taco Rice dish and get into the Guinness book. The 9 a.m. ~ 7 p.m. is setting out to join Naha City in the record books (Naha’s great tug-of-war with a 40-ton rope has been certified for many years). The entry fee is ¥500, which entitles the visitors to partake of the finished taco rice dish. A colorful vegetables festival, the Yaese Carabezi (Colorful Vegetables) Festival, is also on tap Sunday. The festival starts at 9 a.m. at the Helios Brewery in Yaese. Admission is free. A Taiko Drum Event is also slated for Sunday. The drums begin beating at 1 p.m. at Navel Kadena Shopping Center on the wooden outdoor deck. Admission is free. |
