Fukuoka’s Michael Parker was high scorer with 38 points as the Rizing sets the record at 4-2. Elsewhere, The Niigata Albirex squeezed past visiting Saitama Broncos 68-67, while the Osaka Evessa made easywork of Shimane Susanoo Magic, 85-66. The Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix rolled to as two-game sweep over Tokyo’s Apache, with a Sunday 95-89 win. The defending champion Phoenix are now 5-1 on the young season, while Tokyo slides to 1-3. The Sendai 89ers outdid the Toyama Grouses 82-75, giving the 89ers a 4-2 record, while the Shiga Lakestars outdid the Kyoto Hannaryz 98-89. Expansion teams the Akita Northern Happinets and the Miyazaki Shining Suns squared off in their first-ever meetings, splitting the weekend series. Both teams are now 2-4 on the year. |
