Elementary student drowns in Tengan River in rainstormDate Posted: 2010-10-28 Uruma City Police say the second grader, Wataru Togami, was apparently walking along the riverbank when the waters rose more than one meter Friday night. The boy was reported missing before midnight, and his body found about 350 meters from where he was last scene. Police say Togami had facial and abdominal abrasions, but was still wearing clothes, except for one sports shoe, when the body was found about 2 a.m. Saturday. Police say the boy was found lying in a one-meter-deep pool of water. They say a friend of the boy was a witness to the accident and they’re now questioning him in order to determine what exactly happened. |
