Canadian group "The Kinjo Brothers" to perform

Canadian singer songwriter sensations The Kinjo Brothers, will be performing a host of soulful original and cover songs Saturday night at The Bantar House in Naha.

Now in Okinawa to promote their new album, brothers Jory and Kaley have already enthralled the audience at the Naha Festival earlier this month – a performance broadcast live on RBC. Before heading across the globe for a tour in Japan and Okinawa, the Kinjo Brothers stopped in to be the first musical guests on Canada’s new live music TV show “Avenue Live with Dave Kelly”.

Also on the Saturday evening bill are four other bands; Foretones, The OG’s, International Incident, and Dog Day Afternoon. The Foretones are a local high school band, who perform a set of classic rock songs, while the OG’s are three Americans-- Dave, Don and Roy--that decided to make Okinawa their home. The songs they write are a mix of rock, folk, country, blues, with some Okinawan flavor added.

International Incident is another well known band comprised of Michael Garrard, Justin Bumgarner and Brock Stumpff. They play 90’s and early 2000’s punk, Dog Day Afternoon, the final act of the evening, is an international band with a Scottish singer Paul, Irish guitarist Ged, American bassist Evan, and an Okinawan drummer Takeaki. Their music of a wide range of styles from Fleetwood Mac blues to contemporary modern rock.

The event runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Entry is ¥1,200, or ¥1,000with a flyer. The Kinjo Brothers will be on stage from 9pm. The Bantar House is located on Okie Dori, between Kokusai Dori Starbucks and Miebashi Monorail station.
