Cops use spray on rowdy American servicemen

Date Posted: 2010-10-07

Okinawa City Police lost patience with a pair of American servicemen who were loud, boisterous and drunk over the weekend, resorting to using a pepper spray to calm them and get them off the street near Koza Music Town.

The Americans were arguing and fighting on a city street about 8 p.m. Saturday, bringing police to the scene to ask “guys, calm down, please.” The men didn’t listen to repeated police pleas, continuing to argue. Police used a pepper spray on the pair, who were described as very drunk. The police move irritated observers nearby, who felt the spray in their eyes.

The drunken Americans refused to cooperate, insisting “No, I don’t want to go to the police station, don’t take us to prison.” One told police “We are the United States of American Marine Corps servicemen. Don’t touch us.” Police ignored the duo and transported them from the scene by ambulance.
