Date Posted: 2003-10-24

Bamboo Cafe, an exciting new ethnic restaurant featuring over 30 kinds of international dishes, on Aug. 1 celebrated its grand opening on Okinawa City's Park Avenue. With its eye-catching red-and-blue exterior, Bamboo Cafe can't help but attract the attention of passers-by.

Bamboo Cafe was originally located in Hiyagon and had an izakaya-like atmosphere, but in its new reincarnation it has been transformed into a family restaurant where customers can relax and enjoy delicious meals guaranteed to please. The restaurant focuses primarily on the high quality of its dishes, seeking to present a cuisine and taste experience that cannot be found anywhere else on island.

Among Bamboo Cafe's extensive offerings are rib eye steak, chopped beef, beef-and-green-pepper stir-fry, tuna steak, spring rolls, coconut soup and more. However, the restaurant's most popular dish is a jerk chicken that comes in a dinner set hearty enough to satisfy every appetite for only 800. The restaurant also has Thai curries such as Yellow Chicken Curry (900) and Green Seafood Curry (950). These dishes are normally very spicy, but the chef is more than happy to adjust the seasonings to suit your palate. Bamboo Cafe offers a lunch of the day and serves healthy, well-balanced meals throughout the week. They also have a large selection of soft drinks, beers and cocktails.

The cafe's interior is done in wood tones, lending it a relaxing atmosphere. You'll feel at home when you visit, taking your time to sample the various dishes and beverages while listening to the extensive selection of background music. The clientele is friendly and outgoing, making first-timers comfortable and anxious to come back again and again. Bamboo Cafe satisfies by filling up both your stomach and your heart. Why not experience the pleasant ambience and delicious fare at Bamboo Cafe today?

Bamboo Cafe is located close to Kadena Air Base's Gate 1. From Route 330, go down Park Avenue toward Korinza Shopping Mall. The cafe is on the first corner on the right.
