Ryukyu Skywalk aerial tours offer different perspectiveDate Posted: 2010-09-07   ILAS is taking its customers into the air on Ryukyu Skywalk tours on one of their two helicopters, a Eurocopter AS350B2 and the new Eurocopter AS355F2. It’ a trip that includes first an on-the-ground walk through Naha International Airport and its runway, then going airborne for a flight over Okinawa’s main island. Company spokesman Seiichi Watanabe says “we just want to share the beauty of Okinawa nature with everyone. It is unimaginable how beautiful it is from above until you actually see it.” The Ryukyu Skywalk tours are being offered at a special ¥52,500 total rate for a maximum of five people, down from the normal ¥73,500. ILAS, which first began operations in 2004 catering to aerial news coverage, rescues and environmental assessments, is now featuring a wide range of custom services for special occasions. The company’s helicopters are available for romantic night flights during the Christmas season, and sky weddings chartering the helicopter for the flight over Okinawa’s emerald green waters to the chapel, and for simple air tours for special occasions such as birthdays. The trips are also popular as a part of wedding ceremonies as many local wedding planning companies include the tour as an option to their wedding packages. Reservations are required for the flights, which operate weekdays 9 a.m. ~ 5 p.m., from Naha International Airport’s International Terminal.
