Island Terrace caters for big eaters

Date Posted: 2010-08-26

Café and Restaurant Island Terrace wants to be more than just another eatery; it wants to be known for its ambiance and relaxing beauty.

The restaurant located in Mihama’s Depot Island is furnished with retro style taste, but it’s the hanging plants on the balcony that give a cool atmosphere, while the mist drifting from the roof adds even more to the senses. Hisachika Oshiro, who manages Café & Restaurant Island Terrace, says that beyond the natural beauty found at Island Terrace, the food’s both reasonably priced and served in more-than-satisfactory quantities. Oshiro’s list of recommended dishes starts with a Big Chicken Hot & Spicy Sauce or a Garlic Big Chicken dish, each ¥980, or a Big Chicken with Barbeque Sauce or Big Chicken with Teriyaki Sauce each only ¥1,180. All sauces at Care & Restaurant Island Terrace are homemade, while the chicken chunks are simmered for several hours to guarantee the meat’s tender enough to eat with a fork or with chopsticks.

All big chicken plates come with a free drinks, salad and soft ice cream buffet. Café and Restaurant Island Terrace is open Sunday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. ~ 11 p.m., with last orders at 10:15 pm. Fridays and Saturdays, as well as the day before Japanese holidays, the restaurant operates 11:30 a.m. ~ 12:30 a.m., with last orders at 11:30 p.m. The restaurant is located on the second floor of Depot Island’s E building.
