Festivals, festivals and more festivals

Skies are expected to clear, and the sun to shine brightly, as Okinawa heads into a weekend filled with festivals.

The Kadena Town Youth Eisa Festival takes place Saturday at Kadena Sports Stadium. The 3 p.m. festival entry costs ¥500 in advance or ¥700 at the gate.

All other festivals run both Saturday and Sunday, with admission free to all visitors. The Yoron Coral Festival is on Yoron Island, while the Kin Town Festival begins each day at 3 p.m. at the Kin Town Sports Ground. The Ogimi Summer Festival takes place 5 p.m.~ 9 p.m. at Shioya Fishing Port, and the Nakagusuku Gosamaru Festival begins Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Nakagusuku Castle Park.

The Kunigami Festival starts at 8:45 a.m. at the Kunigami Junior High School Grounds, while the Tomiton Summer Festival “Mini Greenday Festival” is 11 a.m. ~ 6 p.m. at Tomiton Shopping Center in Toyzaki, Tomigusuku.
