Marines offering two ComRel internships

Marine Corps Bases Japan is offering two internships with the Community Policy, Planning and Liaison Office to assist the staff with community relations, base visits, political and media analysis and other programs.

The inters will be encouraged to identify issues or opportunities to strengthen relations with Japan, and to offer recommendations. The internships are available immediately, with applicants working a minimum of two weeks. Extended internships for one semester up to a full year are available.

The unpaid internships are open to Japanese citizens currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs, and who are committed to bettering U.S.-Japan-Okinawa relations. Applicants must be proficient in writing and speaking both Japanese and English, be able to conduct quality research in both languages, and be knowledgeable about U.S.-Japan political-military issues.

There is no formal deadline for internship applicants, but qualified applicants will be selected on a first-come basis. Information on the application process can be obtained by emailing MCBJCommunitypolicy@usmc.mil.
