A once popular shopping building at Kokusai Street in Naha is getting a new lease on life. The former Maxy Building behind Naha Mitsukoshi Department Store reopens as Com.D Building on Sunday. The building closed four years ago when its owner went bankrupt, forcing its 64 tenants to relocate. With the new owner, Compadall Co. of Haebaru in charge, the building will open with 23 tenant shops. The new owner plans to promote the shopping center as a special destination for women. Its flagship store will be “Lush,” a London-based worldwide chain specializing in natural cosmetics.
