David Ralston offers Saturday sneak peek of new CD

Date Posted: 2010-07-29

Singer-songwriter David Ralston will lift the wraps on his new CD, Conjugal Carnival Revival, in a special pre-release show Saturday at Wago Family Land in Okinawa City.

The rhythm and blues musician is just back from a concert tour in Massachusetts, and is now ready to give his fans a sneak peek on his new CD due out later this year. The Saturday evening session brings Ralston’s My band to the stage, along with belly dancing, the Samba Drumming Group BBB, and S & M rope tying all together on stage. “It should be pretty crazy”, says Ralston.

Ralston’s been living and performing in Okinawa for 17 years. “Okinawa is a strange place…you have people here from all over the world,” he says. “I played drums at a local jam session club and merchant seamen from all over the world would come in and play. I would ask questions about guitars and took something from all of them, knowing blues was my favorite music.” Ralston calls blues ‘real music’.

Doors open Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Wago Family Land for the performance. Tickets are ¥2,500 at the door.
