Marinade is special ingredient in Chubby's barbequeDate Posted: 2010-07-29  Chubby’s BBQ owners Reed and Chizuru Leinster pride themselves on cooking up real American style barbeque, and are making August a month for newcomers and regulars to enjoy special discounts on their chicken and ribs dishes. The popular lunch combo, BBQ chicken Sandwich Combo, includes French fries and ice tea for only ¥880, and a BBQ Bento, a chicken and rib combo with French fries, salad, rice or bread, and ice tea for ¥1,200. Evenings get even better with a ‘Dinner for Lovers’ which comes with spring roll, salad, soup, French fries, rice or bread, a pork cutlet, BBQ chicken and ribs, plus dessert for only ¥3,850 for two people. There’s also a ‘Summer Special’ served with soup, salad, BBQ chicken, ribs, French fries, rice or bread, and dessert for ¥1,780. Also on the menu is a BBQ chicken dinner for ¥1,780 and a BBQ ribs dinner for ¥1,980. All dinners come with soup, salad, rice and French fries. The Leinster’s opened Chubby’s three years ago, at a location in Awase. An instant success, the restaurant moved to the larger location in Chatan soon after. The homemade marinade is behind that success, which involves marinating every piece of meat for three days before it heads for the grill. Chubby’s BBQ is offering a 10% discount on their dinner menu orders throughout the month of August when customers bring in a copy of their Japan Update advertisement from the July 22nd issue. Located at Chatan 2-8-11 behind the McDonald’s on Highway 58 just past Hamby Town Mall, Chubby’s BBQ is open 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for lunch and 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. for dinner. The restaurant is closed Mondays. Special functions, catering and take out service are all available. Yen and U.S. dollars are accepted, but not credit cards.
