Café & Bar Bark has ‘Gone to the Dogs’

Date Posted: 2010-05-28

For sure, Café & Bar Bark is unusual, distinct and even could be considered exquisite thanks to its approach to both people and pets. In this case, both pets AND people are the customers.

By day, relaxation is designed both for people and their pets, with organic foods chock full of quality in all ingredients, in both original and special health menus. Bark’s menus are two-fold, some for people, some for the dogs. The all-dog foods are cooked by safe standards with ingredients even humans can eat.

Pineapple Pork Ginger is a specialty of the lunch menu offered only by Bark in Okinawa, It’s a top quality Japanese pork fed pineapple to give it less fat and more tenderness, then sautéed with ginger as it’s cooked. Other lunch recommendation that comes from the top is Bark original curry, the secret of which is not only using scarce parts of the cow, but a process developed through trial and error, and then being stewed with minced onions and 18 types of spices for close to a full day. The curry is described as having the finest meat tenderness with rich juices harmonizing the spicy curry sauce. A variety of homemade bagels are also popular during lunch time.

Night time, Café & Bar Bark offers other special treats, including original salsa, California style appetizers and a Vietnamese sandwich. Happy Hour runs 6 p.m. ~ 7 p.m., when Corona, Budweiser, Hartland and original cocktails are 50% off! Huge glass windows brighten the interior, and Royal Copenhagen & Meissen dishes are on display. For that matter, the foods are served on equally exquisite tableware.

To get to Café & Bar Bark, coming out of KAB Gate 2, turn left onto Route 330, and then continue through Koza Intersection. Seeing Misato post Office and Mister Donut on the right, take left and Bark is on the right across the street from Jimmy’s. Free parking is available near-by. Bark is open daily 11:20-midnight with last order at 11;30 p.m., except closed on Mondays.
