GIs suspected in yet another taxi robbery

Date Posted: 2010-05-14

A weekend taxi robbery in Naha Citys Makishi area is believed to involve two black men believed to be U.S. servicemen.

The latest incident took place at 5:33 a.m. Saturday, with the report from a taxi driver that a taxi robber attacked me. They were two black guys that took my change money and left. The police investigation revealed the two men told the taxi drive to take them to Camp Kinser.

As the driver had driven only 300~400 meters, the men asked him to stop, at which time the two men stole the change box and took off running. The driver estimates he lost 5,000. He says the two men were about 20 years of age, skinny, and black. Police are looking for clues on the two robbers.
