Ex-police chief apprehended on suspicion of hit-and-runDate Posted: 2003-10-18 Kishimoto then drove home and later returned to the scene. As he arrived, police officers noticed that he smelled alcohol, raising suspicion that he drove off in order to cover up that he had been drinking. Kishimoto admitted the hit-and-run, but said that he had taken a couple of drinks at his home only after the accident in order to calm his nerves.
