Reggae mega event at Salt & Pepper

Those who love reggae will have their favorite genre of music for their hearts’ content on this weekend when Salt & Pepper live performance and entertainment house in Mihama Carnival Park stages a 24-hour “Ryukyu Reggae Wave 2010 extravaganza.

The event kicks off on Saturday at 6 p.m. and will roll on 24 hours straight until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Organizers say that this event marks the first time Okinawa’s best-known reggae performers come together to woo their audiences in this kind of mega event. The event will feature “Super Irei,” “King Ryukyu,” “Daddy P,” “GOD MAKING,” and “METRO BANK” plus 20 more groups and 10 hot Okinawan reggae musicians including “U-DOU&PLATY”, “King Jam Session”, Jamaican female singer “Shade”, Okinawan and female artist “MOMO” who all perform for the first time at a single event.

Tickets to the event cost ¥2,000 in advance and purchase of at least one drink is required. Tickets at door cost ¥500 more. Patrons under 18 pay ¥1,000 but are not allowed into the event between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
