Okinawa Buffet to highlight Uchina Night at Crow’s Nest

An all-you-can-eat Okinawan Buffet sets the stage for Uchina Night at the Crow’s Nest Club at Camp Shields on Friday, March 26th, an evening featuring live music and traditional Okinawan dance.

Uchina Night means Okinawa Night, and Byron Jones and Wakatida Taiko will team up to perform a traditional Okinawan Ryukuan Dance and Taiko Drums Show. The Okinawan buffet offers a sampling of just about everything Okinawan. The show, which runs 5 p.m. ~ 9 p.m., is free, and open to all ranks and services.

The Okinawan Buffet is $15.95 per person. Reservations can be made at the Crow’s Nest Club, or at DSN 959-2779. The Ryukyu Dance Show menu is wide ranging, including Rafute, a square cut stewed pork, Tofu Champuru, a mixture of tofu and stir fried vegetables, Somen Champuru, the thin Japanese noodles stir fried with tuna, Chicken Karage, marinated and fried boneless chicken, and Benimo Tempura. There will also be Miso soup, fried and steamed rice, Sato Andagi, Benimo Turnovers, and green tea, iced tea and coffee.
