Date Posted: 2010-02-11

Students set to graduate from schools next month say their first choice for an employer in Okinawa is San-A supermarkets.

A survey conducted by Radical Okinawa, a recruitment information publishing company, polled students, asking which of Okinawa’s 20 top companies they’d most like to work for. San-A was the leader, with students saying the supermarket chain has a very good image for business, is very safe, and staff seem to work very hard.

Bank of Okinawa came in second in the survey, followed by Bank of the “Ryukyus and then Okinawa Kaiho Bank. Okinawa Electric Power Company was fifth, and The Terrace Hotel sixth. Koki, a gas company, was ranked seventh and software developer Okinawa Lexues eighth. An IT company, Index Okinawa, was ninth while medical equipment sales and maintenance company Ryukyu Kowa ranked tenth.
