Golden Kings rip two from contender Shiga

The Ryukyu Golden Kings took their show on the road this past weekend, heading to Moriyama in Shiga Prefecture where they scored a pair of wins in Basketball Japan League action. The Golden Kings won 91-84 Saturday against the Shiga Lakestars, with Jeff Newton picking up 22 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks, while teammate Carlos Dixon added another 22 points and five assists.   Read More!

Okinawa girls Daikin Orchid favorites

The prospects of an Okinawan winning the upcoming Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament are higher than ever, with Ai Miyazato, Mika Miyazato, Ayako Uehara, Yayoi Arasaki, Satsuki Oshiro and Shinobu Moromizato all on the players card for the March 4th ~ 6th event. Japanese golf sensation Ai Miyazato, a Higashi Village, Okinawa native, who won the Daikin Orchid in 2004 with a 10-under-par 72 to win more than ¥10,800,000 as the youngest ever to win the tournament, is coming back carrying Japanese superstar status.   Read More!
